The shelter is located on the western side of the Tzoumerka mountain range, right in the middle and 50 km from Arta and 60 km from Ioannina.

The two nearest villages are: Kataraktis (2km) with its twin waterfalls, and Mikrospilia (3km).

The road leading to the shelter starts between Kataraktis and Mikrospilia and has a length of 8km. No specific car type is needed.

The road is temporarily a dirt road and under construction, with a plan to become asphalt in 2023.
