The refuge is located on the western side of the Tzoumerka mountain range, right in the middle, and is 50 km from Arta and 60 km from Ioannina.

The two nearest villages are: Katarraktis (2km) with its twin waterfalls, and Mikrospilia (3km).

The road leading to the refuge starts between Katarraktis and Mikrospilia and is 8km long. No specific type of car is needed.
